Organizational Overview 

Founded in 2003, SnoValley Tilth works to build a thriving, sustainable regional food economy across the Snoqualmie, Snohomish, and Sammamish watersheds, with successful farmers at its core.  We support both established and beginning farmers while strengthening connections between local agriculture and the broader community. 

Our work includes farmer education, networking, and advocacy through monthly potlucks, workshops, farm tours, the Experience Farming Project, and local and state policy engagement. We advocate for more farmers on more farmland producing sustainable food and fiber for our region.

SnoValley Tilth is effective because we are farmer-led, based in our local community, and are a trusted voice. We have strong partnerships with agencies,  organizations and individuals that impact farming in our region and promote an organizational culture of  innovation, communication, inclusion and transparency.

The Opportunity 

SnoValley Tilth seeks a collaborative, entrepreneurial Executive Director to lead our nonprofit into its next chapter. Building on 23 years of farmer-focused programming and a successful annual fundraising auction, the ED will strengthen fundraising, deepen donor relationships, pursue strategic grants, ensure sound financial management, and oversee day-to-day operations.

The organization has recently streamlined operations, reduced costs, and improved cash-flow management. We are now seeking a leader who can build on this momentum while advancing our mission, cultivating partnerships, serving as the public face of the organization and managing a small staff team.

Reporting relationship: Board of Directors 

Key Responsibilities 

Organizational leadership:

• Implement the strategic plan in partnership with the Board and staff.
• Provide regular updates to the Board and Executive Committee.
• Supervise staff and coordinate contractors.
• Oversee special projects, partnerships, and organizational operations.
• Maintain a collaborative, mission-driven organizational culture.

Financial Management and Fundraising:

• Manage the $200K annual operating budget and ensure fiscal health.
• Work with the Treasurer, bookkeeper, and Board on budgeting and financial planning.
• Monitor grant landscape and apply for new relevant grants
• Oversee grant management, compliance and reporting.
• Cultivate donor and supporter relationships
• Lead fundraising efforts, including GiveBIG, GivingTuesday, and the annual Friends of the Fields Dinner & Auction.

Communications & Community Engagement:

• Serve as SVT’s spokesperson with media, partners, policymakers, and the agricultural community.
• Maintain organizational visibility, influence and partnerships.
• Create newsletters, social media content, and fundraising campaigns using tools such as Canva and Mailchimp.
• Attend community events, farm tours, and workshops as needed.

Membership & Event Administration:

• Manage membership and donor records in Salesforce and related systems.
• Process renewals and donor acknowledgements.
• Coordinate registration, volunteers, and logistics for tours, workshops, and community events.

Qualifications:

• Passion for SnoValley Tilth’s mission. 
• At least 3 years of nonprofit leadership experience. 
• Experience working with boards, volunteers, donors, and diverse communities.
• Proven fundraising and grant-writing success.  
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills. 
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. 
• Knowledge of agriculture, local food systems, and conservation is preferred. 
• Comfort with Salesforce, Mailchimp, Canva, Auctria, and social media platforms. 
• Ability to be self-directed and learn quickly.

Position Type: Permanent, full time, hourly; 30-40 hours/ week.

Compensation: $35–$41/hour DOE, non-exempt. Benefits include paid time off, holidays and a flexible work schedule. Some weekends and evenings are required. 

Location: Remote, flexible hours, but requires physical availability in the Carnation-Duvall area for farm tours, item pickups, and events.
