Hi Farmers and Sno-Valley Tilth members,

We all know that farmers wear many “hats”, and I wanted to say hello to all of you again with my newest hat on, which is King County Farm Business Support, at Business Impact NW. Business Impact NW launched the Food Business Resource Center in 2020, as a one stop shop for Washington State food entrepreneurs to access skills, resources and marketplace opportunities needed to start, run, and grow a successful food-related business.
 
I joined the FBRC in the fall of 2020, and through support from King Conservation District my role has evolved in to Farm Business Support Specialist, with a focus on farm businesses in King County. Needless to say, I am excited to be in a position to work one on one with farmers as a resource provider! Whether talking with a beginning farmer about business startup, an experienced farmer about funding opportunities, or assistance writing a business plan for value added products, I am grateful to be able to share my own experiences and to work with others to help reach their business goals.
 
This time of year we usually find ourselves nearing the “hump”, some of the last seedings and plantings are getting checked off, and the rewards of fall harvest season are nearing. Chances are that you have already started thinking about next year – changes you would make, ideas for improvements, new goals.
